'The Originals' season 3 news: Klaus seeks redemption but Elijah and Hayley aren't ready to forgive yet
The newest season of "The Originals" kicks off next Thursday with its premiere episode "For the Next Millennium."
When the show returns, six months have passed since the events of last season. Despite the passing of time, everyone is still grappling with the consequences of Klaus' actions and that they have yet to forgive him. Executive producer, Julie Plec, gave quick and short descriptions about how the characters are feeling when the show returns.
Given his actions last season, Klaus is "begrudgingly redemptive" but Elijah is still "pissed as hell." Elijah is contemplating whether or not he can forgive his brother for his accumulating offenses. While Klaus and Elijah are still at odds, Freya tries to help mend the brothers' relationship.
What about Hayley? Well, she's "even more pissed than Elijah." Hayley is still struggling with the curse that turned her into her wolf form. Jackson tries to support Hayley but according to Plec, he is preoccupied with "how to be a good husband when your wife might be in love with another man?" While Hayley and Jackson will try to work on their marriage, does this mean the end for Hayley and Elijah? Plec revealed that there's always hope for Haylijah, but they will have to overcome a lot of obstacles before they can be together.
Meanwhile, Cami will be involved in a whole new mystery. It has been revealed that she will be working with Detective Will Kinney (Jason Dohring) to investigate a crime that happens in the first episode. Vincent, who is still trying to deny his magic, is set to help as well.
Finally, Marcel is back in charge after having regained control of the French Quarter. He utilizes a new strategy in order to recruit vampires. At the same time, Davina, who has become Regent to the New Orleans witches, finds herself at odds with Marcel.
Season three of "The Originals" premieres on Oct. 8, Thursday, 9 p.m. ET on the CW.
