'The Originals' season 4 rumors: Klaus and Caroline to reunite

(Facebook/The Vampire Diaries)Rumors claim that Caroline and Klaus will reunite on "The Originals" season 4.

While it's no secret that "The Originals" will feature a five-year time jump in its season 4, the latest in the rumor mill is that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice King) may finally be reunited when "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series returns.

Many fans of Morgan and King have long awaited for the reunion of the pair since the former left "The Vampire Diaries'" Mystic Falls and headed to "The Originals'" New Orleans. While it's true that the onscreen romantic pair had a love-hate relationship on "The Vampire Diaries," there is no denying that their pairing was one of the most followed by many "The Vampire Diaries" fans.

When Morgan left "The Vampire Diaries" to focus on the first season of "The Originals," it goes without saying that many fans of the "Klaroline" tandem were left disappointed. However, the wait may be over for the fans as the latest in the rumor mill is that there is a possibility for Caroline to move to New Orleans, too, much more that "The Vampire Diaries" is about to air its eighth and final season.

As "The Originals" season 4 is expected to feature another round of battle between Klaus and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), it is suspected that Caroline's arrival in New Orleans can provide the already-weakened Klaus the much-needed strength.

For some fans, if "The Vampire Diaries" is, indeed, to bring back Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert to the series in order to bring a closure to her relationship with Damon (Ian Somerhalder), the same thing must be done to Klaus and Caroline.

Meanwhile, apart from the possible reunion between Klaus and Caroline in the upcoming season of "The Originals," there are also rumors saying that Klaus' daughter with Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) , Hope (Summer Fontana), will have the solution to break the spell that afflicts Klaus and the rest of the Mikaelsons. After all, as the only character in "The Originals" who has the combined powers of a witch, vampire, and werewolf, there is no denying that Hope is, indeed, one force to reckon with.

There is still no definite air date for "The Originals," although it was already announced that the show will return for its fourth season in early 2017.

On the other hand, "The Vampire Diaries" is set to air its series finale season over The CW on Oct. 21.
