'The Originals' season 4 spoilers, plot: Marcel and Klaus to square off soon
Following the shocking and ultimately redemption-filled finale of "The Originals" season three, fans are now looking forward to what's next for the Mikaelsons, particularly Klaus, who is the bloodline of his siblings at the moment.
A vengeful Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) has struck Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) heart with Papa Tunde's Blade and the latter is now in a pain-induced coma. Aside from reminiscing all the selfishness he lived off with, Klaus' life is also linked to his siblings, which means if he dies, so will the rest of the Mikaelsons.
It is obvious that Klaus will want to take revenge on Marcel when he gets freed from the bonds of Papa Tunde's Blade. The big question is, will he ever muster the courage to kill someone he once called his favorite son?
Speaking with TV Insider, Morgan revealed that he doesn't think Klaus will do it, "unless it's necessary for his survival."
The actor went on to explain that though Klaus might not be able to kill Marcel for now, there will indeed be a confrontation that fans will love to see. "The Mikaelsons wrestled New Orleans from Marcel when they returned to the city [in the pilot], and now he's taken it back. This could be the beginning of a war! There will be a score to settle, for sure," Morgan said.
How will this war affect everyone else involved though? Now that Hope (Summer Fontana) is all grown-up and has a clear understanding of the things going on around her, the war might not be a very good idea. Adding to that is the fact that Hope has never seen her father for five years. Will she love or hate him for igniting the war?
The feud between Marcel and Klaus may go on for years, but for showrunner Julie Plec, there could be something to rekindle the torn deep bond. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the EP said of Klaus, "[He knows] Marcel is actually singularly responsible for the fact that he's alive."
Plec's statements couldn't be denied since the hundreds of people who witnessed Klaus' fall actually wanted him dead. Thanks to Marcel, he has a chance to redeem himself.
"The Originals" season four premieres sometime January 2017.
