'The Sims 4' City Living release date: DLC Expansion pack arriving Nov. 1
Electronic Arts (EA) has officially unveiled the release of an expansion pack for "The Sims 4." Titled City Living, the pack will feature new content and will hit the market on Nov. 1.
According to "The Sims" official website, the game will introduce a "busier" city and lifestyle for players to enjoy. It will be located at San Myshuno, a "rich, diverse city" that is "tucked up against the nearby mountains." EA boasts of the city as something completely new.
Indeed, the expansion looks like it will have a lot to offer players — both in terms of activities and overall aesthetic. Unlike other cities that feature big, beautiful houses in massive spaces, City Living will see the introduction of apartments and penthouses, much like the condos in "The Sims 3" Late Night expansion.
It is also set to feature new careers for players to explore: Politician, Critic, and Socia Media. As players climb up the ranks and get richer, they may also be able to afford penthouses.
Apartments are quite realistic, complete with complaining neighbors, electricity blackouts and temperamental landlords. Penthouses, on the other hand, are much more luxurious and "provide a totally different experience."
New activities will also be a part of City Living — from singing at a Karaoke Bar to attending numerous festivals. These festivals range from romantic ones to the more geeky conventions. Players can also have their characters hang out with friends and play basketball.
Sims can also meet new characters since the San Myshuno is home to a lot of different people. EA also released a trailer for the upcoming expansion, which sees streets laden with graffiti and street performers, Sims eating international cuisine at certain food kiosks, protesters and politicians, watching fireworks, and even lighting sparklers. Players can also look for forward to new items to decorate with.
"The Sims 4" City Living will be available on PC and Mac for $40.
