'The Strain' season 3 spoilers: Lady Liberty turns into a Strigoi in new episodes
The upcoming season of "The Strain" promises more humans turning into Strigoi. But it won't just be man infected with the evil as the new trailer reveals that even the Statue of Liberty will become an enemy.
In the trailer, fans can see a lot of changes as the Strigois increase in number and man will try to fight for life. It has yet to be seen which species will emerge victorious in what could be the biggest battle between man and strain, but ultimately, man will have a rough ride as even Lady Liberty will slowly turn into a Strigoi.
According to Design & Trend, the latest trailer further gives fans a feel of the impending battle in season three. Strigois will slowly penetrate the city, and though vampire hunters and citizens determined to stay alive will join hands in fending the enemies off, there will be lives that are sacrificed.
In the previous season, viewers saw two deaths: Nora (Mia Maestro) and Coco (Lizzie Brochere). There has been no word from production regarding additional deaths in the upcoming installment but two characters have been added to somehow make up for the loss.
The new cast members are Kroft (Aaron Lazar), a team leader of the Navy SEALS who will join the hunt for Strigoi, and Kate Nelson (America Olivo), a captain hailing from the New York Police Department, who is in charge of her own squad.
Meanwhile, fans have been questioning the announcement regarding the shortened number of episodes for the upcoming seasons. Showrunner Carlton Cuse recently explained to The International Business Times why the decision came about.
"That is something I fought for and intentionally wanted because it just feels like we can really amp up the story velocity in the third season by making 10 episodes instead of 13. 'The Strain' is a five season show and there are three books in this trilogy. There is a clear beginning, middle, and end," he explained.
"The Strain" season three is slated for premiere on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
