Damon Salvatore will do anything, including making a deal with the devil, just to get his brother Stefan back in an all-new episode titled "One Way or Another" airing this Friday night.

In last week's episode titled "I Went to the Woods," the Phoenix Stone was destroyed and the souls trapped inside were released. A blood-thirsty vampire named Ambrose had possessed Stefan's body. Stefan, who was also trapped in the Phoenix Stone, had inhabited the body of a human named Marty. Damon was able to save Stefan/Marty, but his task is far from over.

In the upcoming episode, Damon will stop at nothing in order to save his brother. He then makes a deal with Ambrose in exchange for Stefan's body.

Also in the next episode, Damon will enlist Alaric's help in the mission. As per Ambrose's instructions, the two will head down to Memphis in order to track down an escaped vampire.

In the promo for "One Way or Another," viewers can see Alaric's reluctance to team up with old buddy Damon and return to his vampire-hunting days. He tells Damon the truth about how his life has been like for the past three years without him. However, as they begin their mission, Alaric's passion is reignited.

"I hate how good that felt," he says in the promo.

Meanwhile, Bonnie will meet Virginia, a young woman in the psych ward. She will provide her with very valuable information that could reveal why the Armory, a supernatural organization, is after her.

Also in the episode, after Rayna announces some devastating news, Enzo decides to take matters into his own hands.
