'The Walking Dead' season 7 episode 3 spoilers: Daryl kept a prisoner by the Saviors
The upcoming episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7 will see Daryl (Norman Reedus) at the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors.
It can be recalled that Daryl was taken in by the Saviors as prisoner. Now, a trailer for the third episode of the season has been released online. It sees Dwight (Austin Amelio), one of Negan's men, taking Daryl and trying to scare him senseless. Dwight takes Daryl and shoves his face against a fence as they observe other prisoners that the Saviors have taken in herding the walkers. Daryl can be seen in a holding cell of some sort and another scene shows him walking alone down an empty hallway. Negan points out that Daryl doesn't get easily scared, which is something that he admires.
Judging by the clip, it looks like Daryl has no way out of the Sanctuary — the home base of Negan and the Saviors. Daryl is barely recognizable, not because of his appearance but because of the way he acts. The clip, which only lasts for a little over 30 seconds, sees him without spirit and power as he is held prisoner by the Saviors.
The synopsis for the new episode, titled "The Cell," teases that the promise of the new, functioning community of survivors that the Alexandrians previously encountered comes with a price.
Meanwhile, here is a brief recap of the previous episode, titled "The Well."
King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and The Kingdom over which he rules were finally introduced. Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) met the royal ruler, but the latter seemed disillusioned by the promise of a functioning and safe society within The Kingdom.
As it turned out, Carol was onto something. The reason for The Kingdom's safety was because King Ezekiel had been sending Negan and the Saviors slaughtered pigs as meals in exchange for their protection — something that his Highness kept a secret from his subjects. But King Ezekiel, who has a rocky relationship with the Saviors, made sure that the pigs he sent were filled with walker meat.
In the end, King Ezekiel revealed his true past to Carol and they formed a friendship.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
