'Veep' season 5 episode 3 spoilers: Mike deals with the aftermath of Selina's tweet
The upcoming episode of "Veep" season 5 will see the aftermath of Selina's (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) tweet. The official synopsis for episode 3, titled "The Eagle," reads:
"Selina sends a tweet and Mike must deal with the consequences. Amy feels usurped by Bob, and begins to be troubled by his behavior. At a museum gala, Gary finds himself the belle of the ball."
A trailer has also been released for the new episode and it shows Mike (Matt Walsh) advising Selina to tell the truth. Selina, of course, retorts with gibberish nonsense, mimicking Mike's voice. "That's exactly how you sound," she says.
The next scene shows Selina being advised to go to the United Nations, but Selina again thinks the suggestion is utterly useless. Gary (Tony Hale) is introduced by Charlie (John Slattery) to a table full of seemingly important men. Charlie tells them that Gary is "a key member of the Meyer administration," which may be the reason why he becomes the center of attention at the gala. Catherine (Sarah Sutherland) is seen continuing to film Selina.
The final product of Catherine's film is surely something to be excited about.
Meanwhile, here is a recap of the previous episode, titled "Nev-AD-a."
Amy (Anna Chlumsky), along with her team comprised of Dan (Reid Scott), Jonah (Timothy Simons) and Richard (Sam Richardson), were all in Carson City for the recount. Meanwhile, Chinese hackers managed to breach White House employee files, but Selina doesn't pay too much attention to it.
At an event, Selina met Charlie and was immediately attracted to him. This ended up with Selina and her team conversing about assembling a new "task force" involving Charlie, which was code that everyone but Kent (Gary Cole) understood. One thing led to another and Selina slept with Charlie after giving him a special tour of the White House.
Afterwards, however, Selina found out that Charlie was Bill O'Brien's (Brad Leland) choice for Treasury Secretary. The press then speculated that Selina and Charlie were dating after Mike screwed up at a press conference.
Meanwhile, Amy and Dan's sexual tension was about to reach a resolution until Amy's sister, Sophie (Mary Catherine Garrison), stepped in the way.
"Veep" season 5 episode 3 will air on Sunday, May 8 on HBO.
