After the way season three ended, fans know that the fourth season of "Vikings" would see Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) on the warpath as he tries to conquer France.

"Vikings" season three finale saw Rollo (Clive Standen) allying himself with France's Emperor Charles (Lothaire Bluteau) in exchange for land and the hand of the princess. These events set the stage for Ragnar's state of mind when the new season starts.

Reports say that there will be a time jump in season four and Ragnar is found dealing with health problems caused by the battle with the French king. The Viking leader is also having problems trusting the people around him and whether this is the reason why he'll be dethroned is still unknown. But what is known is that his people will turn on him and his son, Bjorn, will be named the king of the Vikings.

The next season will be about Ragnar Lothbrok trying to conquer France as well as a new love interest, as a new character will be part of the series. His son, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), will reportedly be taking his place as the head of the Vikings.

But being the leader isn't as easy or as clear-cut for Bjorn as he's also allegedly suffering from the loss of his wife and will be trying to earn the trust of his people. Despite these setbacks, Ragnar's heir is rumored to be doing great things in the first few episodes of season four.

The actor shared a bit of what Bjorn will be experiencing during the SDCC panel. Ludwig explained that his character goes on a spirit quest while mourning his lost love and goes "out to the woods. And while he's there, this bear starts stalking him."

"Vikings" season four will reportedly also focus on Ragnar and Lagertha's (Katheryn Winnick) relationship. While it's now known that the shield maiden is still in love with Ragnar, the exotic Chinese slave, Yidu (Dianne Doan), will reportedly catch the dethroned king's eye.

"Vikings" season four is set to return to the History Channel in 2016.
