'Vikings' season 4 spoilers, rumors, release date: Will Bjorn fight against his uncle Rollo?
There is no doubt that "Vikings" is one of the best historical action series on TV, especially since it is listed as one of History channel's most popular shows. It will likely be among the top shows again once it airs in February 2016. After the release of the first official trailer, "Vikings" fans are excited to see what's going to happen next and speculations are spreading fast.
The first official trailer declares that "war never ends." This gives the impression that it won't just be a normal season with the Viking wars. The rumor spreading about King Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) death could be true and it might happen this coming season. As the trailer puts it, "One generation passes away and another generation comes." However, there is not enough information as of now regarding Ragnar's death.
Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) will most likely replace his father and take the throne. A scene in the trailer shows Bjorn setting an order to arrest Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård). By the end of season 3, Ragnar had told Floki of his knowledge of Athelstan's (George Blagden) murderer. Floki killed Athelstan because of envy and jealousy. King Ragnar, who had recently discovered how Athelstan died, was furious. Ragnar decided to bring justice for his friend's death, whom he considered a loyal friend and a good adviser. Judgement will be given to Floki should he be found guilty.
Viewers can expect more bloodshed and betrayal in the upcoming season, which will be driven by the desire for power. On the other hand, Ragnar's brother Rollo has already tainted his loyalty. His mind was poisoned by King Charles after the siege in Paris. With his betrayal, he knew he would gain new power. Should Paris fall under the hands of the new king, likely to be Bjorn, the possibility of Rollo being given a second chance is unclear.
"Vikings" season 4 will premiere on Feb. 18, 2016 on History.
