Blizzard Entertainment has just released the latest game update for "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos." The new 1.27a update for the third installment of the "Warcraft" series comes four years after the previous update and almost 14 years after the game's initial release.

"We have a history of maintaining our games for many years. Our earlier games are still played and enjoyed today, so we want to continue to maintain them for those communities," Blizzard previously told GameSpot.

The arrival of the latest "Warcraft III" game update was first announced last March 12 by Classic Games head Robert Bridenbacker in a video addressing the game's loyal Chinese players. As of March 15, the update is now available to players worldwide.

The "Warcraft III" 1.27a update focuses on modern system compatibility. The update comes with a new game installer for newer Apple laptops, specifically those running the 10.10 Yosemite and 10.11 El Capitan operating systems. Blizzard also improved the game's compatibility with the Windows operating systems — specifically 7, 8.1 and 10.

The 1.27a update also brings in resolution to known game issues involving graphics, gamma settings, disabled sounds, and characters not displaying properly. Issues with Mac support were also resolved.

Previously, Blizzard had also updated the game with a new battle platform, matchmaking features, and increased communication with other players.

These updates come from Blizzard's newly formed Classic Games division whose engineers have been tasked to provide updates to some of Blizzard's aged but still popular games like "Warcraft III," "Diablo II," and "Starcraft." Like "Warcraft III," "Diablo II" was also recently updated to have better compatibility and stability on newer computers.

Loyal "Warcraft III" fans were also thrilled when Blizzard announced more game updates coming in the future. However, at this time, the game developer has not made any announcements regarding these future updates.

"Watcher III: Reign of Chaos" is playable for the Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows computers.
