The mystery shrouding the creepy town of "Wayward Pines" is about to be uncovered by Ethan, his son Ben, and the audience who have been wondering about the creatures beyond the town's walls. Last week's episode saw Ethan being appointed as Sheriff before handing over the reins to Nurse Pam. Theresa was assigned a realtor's job, while Ben started questioning his parents' motives.

Episode 5 marks the mid-season episode and all will be revealed, as director M. Night Shyamalan had promised to Digital Spy in an interview in May. "I felt like, I'm really enjoying the tone of teasing you, but I don't want to do that for nine episodes. I want to do that for four episodes and then give you the secret, tell you everything, and then the remaining five I want you to deal with what you know", the director and showrunner told the publication.

The trailer depicts students at the Wayward Pines Academy performing a creepy ritual of sorts during their orientation at the eerie school. Ben can also be seen present at the ritual and his teacher, Mrs. Fischer, seems to show a clip revealing the secret behind the town. Ethan's son is about to receive significant information about Wayward Pines.

But his father will also learn the secret of this town when episode 5 airs this Thursday. Spoilers Guide dishes the upcoming episode's synopsis, aptly titled "The Truth". It teases that Ethan will finally venture outside of Wayward Pines and will be shocked at what he discovers. Who are those bizarre creatures?

Meanwhile, Theresa reports for her job as a realtor and meets her first client who is just as confused as her about the town. Ben goes through his orientation and learns the truth through his teacher who was once a hypnotherapist.
