'Wayward Pines' season 2 renewal yet to be formally announced; fans have their own ideas for a plot continuation

The people behind "Wayward Pines" have always insisted that the show is not meant to go beyond its first season. But it was so good that fans can't help but demand for a season two. With some talks already pointing to a possible renewal, others have taken it into their hands to come up with a list of reasons why the show will do well to continue with a second season and also of possible storylines.

Of course, an obvious pro for renewing "Wayward Pines" is that fans have been asking for it, and Fox giving in to requests will only give them a sure hit second season. The mini series ended after 10 episodes last July 23 but fans have not stopped talking about a new season, even after three months.

Of course, where there is a pro, there can also be a con. Some fans have also been very vocal that the season one finale was "perfect" and should not be ruined with a sophomore season. In a previous article, one fan mentioned that he would rather the show ended with the intended 10 episodes but will still watch a continuation - crossing his fingers that a new season will not disappoint.

So while fans are debating as to whether it's a good move to continue Ethan Burke's (Matt Dillon) journey and while Fox is still on the fence about the matter as well, some fans have taken their guessing game to the next level. Aside from just guessing whether or not there will be season two eventually, they have also come to guessing which arcs can be explored for another season.

Crossmap lists some of these possible storylines and an interesting one involves other villages - yes, plural. It will be nice to see how the existing characters will react to a discovery that there are still other humans on earth, not just in one village but in multiple other similar villages.

Also interesting to explore is a cure for the abbies. Will life be tremendously different of Ben (Charlie Tahan) instead collaborates with someone for a care versus trying to escape?

More news on "Wayward Pines" season two as they become available.
