WWE Hall of Fame 2016 news: Rapper Snoop Dogg entering HOF in this year's induction ceremony
Another celebrity joins the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame, and in this year's class, it is none other than rapper Snoop Dogg, who is also the first musician to be inducted.
Snoop (real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) is one of the most successful rappers in the music industry who dabbled in sports entertainment, specifically the WWE.
Perhaps the biggest appearance Snoop made in the WWE was at Wrestlemania 24 (2008) when he served as the Master of Ceremonies for a Divas tag team match featuring former WWE superstars Ashley (Massaro), Maria (Louise Bennett), Melina (Perez), and Beth Phoenix. Following the match, Snoop even got into action himself when he clotheslined Santino Marella, who was then the storyline ex-boyfriend of Maria, before kissing the latter.
Snoop returned in an episode of Monday Night Raw in 2009 and was the "special guest host." During the show, Snoop was again involved in an in-ring altercation when he prevented Chavo Guerrero from beating Hornswoggle.
Famous personalities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mike Tyson, Mr. T, and Donald Trump are some people who Snoop will be joining in the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame.
The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016 is stacked with beloved competitors from the past. Joining Snoop are Sting, The Godfather, The Fabulous Freebirds, Big Boss Man, Jacqueline, and Stan Hansen.
It is still undetermined who will have the honor of inducting Snoop during the ceremony.
The WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place the night before Wrestlemania. This year, it will be held on April 2 at the American Airlines Center, home of the 2011 National Basketball Association (NBA) champions, the Dallas Mavericks.
The day after that, the WWE transfers to the AT&T Stadium, home of the National Football League's (NFL) Dallas Cowboys, for the grandest event in sports entertainment, Wrestlemania 32.
