There is a lot to love in the Xbox Live Games With Gold program which brings out free games per month. When the games for this month were announced, many gamers were pleased that some came with backwards compatibility.

The complete list of games available as part of the Games for Gold program is currently on the Xbox website. However, as with previous monthly programs that have been launched by Microsoft, some of the games that were announced for the month will only be available for a short period of time.

One of the best games available throughout the month is "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments," which is available from the first of this month until the 31st. In this particular offering, which is available for the Xbox One, gamers will get to hone their detective skills and take down the bad guys. However, it is the "Lords of the Fallen" game which is attracting a lot of attention now as it has been modeled on the "Dark Souls" gaming franchise. This particular game is going to be available for a month on the Xbox One starting from March 15. As for "Styx: Master of Shadows" which is focused on a goblin assassin, it arrives on March 16 for the Xbox One and is going to be available for a month.

Gamers who have the Xbox 360 console have not been left behind and they can try out "Borderlands," which is available starting from March 16 until the end of the month. In this particular offering, they can step into the shoes of a mercenary on the planet of Pandora and take on challengers. Finally, "Supreme Commander 2" was also offered this month as part of the Games for Gold program but the period for the game ends today.

Finally, both "Supreme Commander 2" and "Borderlands" can also be played on the Xbox One as they are backwards compatible.
