Adam Sandler, the actor who brought comedy classics such as 'Little Nicky' and 'Big Daddy,' has snagged a 4-film deal with Netflix.

Netflix has recently announced its stepping into the movie industry after securing rights to produce a sequel to Ang Lee's 2000 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' hit, which will called 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend.'

Aside from his expertise in performing comedy roles, fans initially thought that Sandler's movies with Netflix will show a more serious side of him, after recently starring a dramatic role in Judd Apatow's 'Funny People' and 'Reign Over Me.'

When the actor released a press release saying that the reason why he agreed to go on a deal with Netflix is because it rhymes with "wet chicks," it is evident that Sandler's four movies with Netflix will be anything but serious.

"People love Adam's films on Netflix and often watch them again and again. His appeal spans across viewers of all ages -- everybody has a favorite movie, everyone has a favorite line -- not just in the US but all over the world," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix's Chief Content Officer, in an official press release published on the streaming giant's website.

Dubbed by NPR as a "structural experimentation," Netflix's dive into the movie industry presents a new business model. The blog says it opens up a wider range of opportunities than in the entertainment industry at present.
