Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a ton of new details and official images in its Sept. 4 issue about the upcoming "American Horror Story: Hotel," series set to premiere this October. The series is the fifth season in FX's horror anthology series, "American Horror Story."

At front and center of EW's cover is Lady Gaga, "American Horror Story's" newest addition, who will be playing a very important role this season.

Lady Gaga will be portraying the mysterious Countess whose wicked plan will be revealed in the first episode.

The Countess purchases Hotel Cortez and will move in along with her partner for two decades, Donovan, played by Matt Bomer. However, the Countess' feelings will soon be swayed with the arrival of Tristan, played by Finn Wittrock.

The Countess and Donovan are afflicted with an ancient blood virus, which makes them crave blood. "It's not vampires. It's really a form of hemophilia in a way. There's no capes and fangs," Murphy stated. Tristan will be turned as well and will join the couple.

Co-creator and producer, Ryan Murphy, has previously stated that all five seasons in the anthology will be interconnected but never explained how. This season, Murphy will start revealing details which viewers can then piece together.

"We do go to the Murder House for one episode," Murphy revealed.

"They're all connected. We're just beginning to tell you how they're connected. They're all very separate but there's clues every season that we're not telling you how the different world are intertwined," Murphy added.

To tie together the events of season five to season one, viewers will see Christine Estabrook reprise her role as Marcy, the realtor who sold the haunted house to the Harmons during season one.

She will be the real estate agent tasked with selling Hotel Cortez.

The upcoming season will also have a narrative structure that alternates between two storylines. Flashbacks will be interspersed into the current timeline. The show will go back to the 1930's during the time when the Hotel Cortez was newly built.

Evan Peter's role was initially kept secret, but it has now been revealed that he will be playing James March, the rich but deeply disturbed owner of the hotel.

"He's unique. He's designed a hotel to cater to his specific needs, which tend toward dark evil," Peters described his character

March had commissioned the hotel to be built. The beautiful art-deco façade of the hotel masks the "labyrinth structure" underneath, built to hide March's murderous activities.

Mare Winningham will also be returning this season. She has been cast as a laundress who works for March.

The present timeline will also deal with a serial killer on the loose. Wes Bentley, who plays a detective, will move into the hotel to hunt down the "Ten Commandments Killer."

If it's possible to have something scarier than a serial killer, then it's definitely going to be featured in the show. Murphy revealed that the show will also be introducing "The Addiction Demon, a creature in the vein of Rubber man or Bloody face, who has no eyes or mouth."

"American Horror Story: Hotel" will premiere on Oct. 7, Wednesday, on FX.
