Android Nougat news, updates: Samsung Galaxy S7 series to get OS update in January

It looks like 2017 is going to start good for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners as reports are now rife that they will get an update leading directly to Android Nougat 7.1.1 - the latest version of the operating system - sometime in January.
As per Sam Mobile's report, the beta program reportedly ended on Dec. 30 as they have obtained confirmation from Samsung (via the beta app) that the program has indeed concluded on the mentioned date at midnight. Along with the announcement of the beta program's end, Samsung teased customers, "We would do our best to distribute the official version in January as soon as possible."
Samsung also thanked everyone who supported and showed interest in the program. The South Korean electronics company promised to do their best to apply all of their customers' opinions and suggestions into the final version of Android Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
As the beta program ended, Samsung reminds users that no new beta versions will be released, and any individual feedback that will be inputted through "Error report" and "Suggestion" will be managed through "community."
It can be recalled that Samsung released up to five versions of the beta program firmware since November for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users to prepare the mobile devices update for the latest Android operating system.
Since Google released the Android 7.1.1 amidst the Galaxy Beta Program, the South Korean electronics firm announced a couple of weeks ago, "We are pleased to announce that we will support Android 7.1.1 from the official N OS release."
Android Nougat brings in more than 1,500 old and more than 70 new emoji icons. It is also equipped with a feature that lets people use or open two app windows at the same time on one screen.
The latest Android OS is also capable of supporting a high-end graphics display as well as virtual reality. Doze is one of the most sought-after features of Android Nougat that helps save a good amount of battery while on the go.
