Several news about a July 26 release date of 'Attack on Titan' Season 2 have plagued the internet, but Wit Studios have yet to confirm anything.

Moreover, there is a big possibility that the waiting game for the second season may be prolonged as the head of Wit Studios, the hit anime series creators, Joji Wada, hinted on what to expect on sequels and spinoffs.

"The manga comic the anime is based on is still ongoing, and all of us on the staff are following and loving it," the studio head gushed. "Eventually, we definitely want to do a sequel. This year, though, we've got our hands full producing an anime that will be bundled in a limited edition of the Attack on Titan manga, which tells a different sort of story than what we did in the TV series."

It was GMA Network, a Philippine-based news outlet, that first reported that Attack on Titan Season 2 release date would be on July 26.

The same reports abound in various news and anime websites including Singaporean-based cosplay costume mogul Otaku House, Rocket News 24 and KDramaStars.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that a live action film adaptation of the Attack on Titan series is set to premier in summer of 2015.

The movie will be directed by Shinji Higuchi and will be released by Japanese film production company Toho, while Funimation is rumored to distribute the action flick in the US.

Outside of anime circles, the series' main character/heartthrob Levi graced the cover of a popular women's magazine in Japan last June.

The cover of the magazine issue features Levi sitting on a fancy reclining chair with a manga and a pair of black loafers, was sketched by Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama.
