'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date, plot rumors: Series to hit Japan first; US premiere not in the cards?

(Shingeki TV)"Attack on Titan" season 2 has no release date yet.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 still has no release date set, but rumor has it that it will arrive first in Japan. Unfortunately, there is also some talk of the second season not being released in Western countries.

According to reports, "Attack on Titan" season 2 may not see the light of day in Western areas because it has apparently been denied release. Of course, nothing has been confirmed so far, so it remains to be seen if there is any truth to this rumor.

But what can fans expect from the new season?

Numerous predictions and theories have taken over the Internet ever since the first season concluded. First of all, there is reportedly going to be more Titans to face in the second season, including a beast-like one and a highly intelligent one. Fans know that one of the things that humans have as an edge over Titans is their intelligence, so facing a smart Titan is only going to make things more difficult for the Survey Corps.

There is also some belief that Eren may transform into a beast-like Titan, in order to match the one that is speculated to appear. Eren's powers are expected to be explored more in the upcoming season. It can be recalled that Eren's father injected him with some sort of serum that allowed him to become a Titan shapeshifter, but the extent of his abilities have yet to be expounded.

Apart from that, it looks like Eren will also get himself into a dangerous situation as rumors say that Mikasa, Levi, and Armin will have trouble trying to save him. But he won't be the only one in the face of danger. It is also believed that Chief Erwin Smith will die in the upcoming season during a fight against the Titans.

However, since none of these claims have been confirmed yet, it would be best for readers to take this news with a grain of salt for now.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 will premiere in 2017.
