'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date not before 2017

(Facebook/ Shingeki no Kyojin)"Attack on Titan" season 2 is believed not to air earlier than 2017.

After years of waiting, it seems like fans of the manga animated series "Attack on Titan" may need to stretch their patience a little more as it is strongly speculated that the season 2 of the said animated series won't come out sooner than 2017.

According to reports, while it is true that the season 2 run of "Attack on Titan" is yet to be confirmed, those anticipating the animated series should reckon with the fact that it will not air anytime this year. Reportedly, Selecta Vision, a Spain-based production company, was planning to buy the rights of the said anime series but it is said that its forthcoming season is yet to be released next year.

With this, it is speculated that the reason for the delay in the release of "Attack on Titan" season 2 is the insufficient story sources. It was previously reported that the creators of "Attack on Titan" want to stay faithful to its manga origin; however, as of this writing, "Attack on Titan" on manga is not even finished with its second story arc.

As the creators of the said anime series want its manga counterpart to come up with, at least, four story arcs before releasing "Attack on Titan" season 2, it goes without saying that it will take some time before the avid viewers of the show can expect the animated series to air its next season.

Meanwhile, another report claims that, in the event that "Attack on Titan" creators stick to their decision to be faithful to the manga version of the series, then, viewers can expect the arrival of Beast Titan in the story as it is so in the comic book. With this, "Attack on Titan" season 2 could possibly feature the said character as it is part of the "Clash of Titans" story arc.
