'Attack on Titan' season 2 rumors: Anime to have its own unique story, to deviate from its manga origins

(Facebook/Shingeki no Kyogin)Rumors claim that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will reveal that Zeke and Eren are half-brothers.

Despite its upcoming season 2 being long overdue, there is no denying that avid fans of the anime "Attack on Titan" are still very much excited about its return. While the anime's season 2 is not expected to arrive earlier than spring 2017, there are already various rumors and speculations as to how its story may play out. Nonetheless, because of the long delay, it is suspected that "Attack on Titan" season 2 may deviate from its manga origins as far as its story is concerned.

There are rumors saying that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will feature two story arcs from the manga: "Clash of Titans" and "Uprising." However, there are also speculations that the anime version of the manga will inject some events that have never been tackled in the manga so that the upcoming season 2 of the anime will have its own unique story on the whole.

Despite deviating from the story of its manga counterpart, though, "Attack on Titan" season 2 is still expected to cast the spotlight on Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, and the rest of the Survey Corps. It is also said that the upcoming season will also feature Krista, who just played support in the past season, in a more important manner.

It is also strongly expected that the anime will be ushering in more titans, such as Zeke Yeager, who is actually Eren's half-brother and has the ability to shape-shift into a titan as well, known as Beast Titan. It has been reported that just like Eren, Beast Titan is a thinking and smart one. However, he looks like an ape and is stronger than Eren's titan form. Hence, it is likely for him to defeat his half-brother in the event that they lock horns.

While it's true that any of the plots mentioned here is exciting, much more if they are all featured in the upcoming season 2 of "Attack on Titan," unfortunately, they are nothing more than speculations at this point in time and can only be confirmed once the anime begins airing, reportedly, in April next year.
