'Attack on Titan' season 2 plot rumors, release date: Romance in the air for Eren and Krista, Mikasa and Levi

(Shingeki TV)"Attack on Titan" season 2 is rumored to premiere in February 2017.

Although a definite release date has yet to be announced for the second season of "Attack on Titan," fans are already anxious about what will happen to the heroes of the series. The latest in a string of theories and rumors has a lot to do with romance being in the air.

According to reports, it is believed that Eren will strike up a romance with Krista. Many fans have been shipping the two since the very first season, so making it a reality this time around will definitely be a treat for them.

But Eren won't be the only one with a love interest. It is also expected that Mikasa's relationship with Levi will also be in the spotlight. However, Eren won't be too happy with this pairing.

Since the Japanese anime series revolves around the survival of the human race against giant man-eating humanoids, romance won't be the only subject matter that will be explored. There are speculations that Mikasa may be running from something, while Eren will face a lot of challenges. Levi, on the other hand, will go AWOL.

It was previously reported that the second season is believed to depict the Reiss family, the royals who are possibly behind all the titan attacks. They are also in control of the government since the so-called king is only a pawn in the larger picture. Apart from that, some new faces will also be joining the chaos. But just because there will be new characters doesn't mean that things will be looking up for the heroes this season. One of the newcomers will be named Zeke, but he will also have the ability to transform into a beast-like titan with the intelligence of a human.

Although no premiere date has been confirmed, reports believe that "Attack on Titan" season 2 will land sometime in February 2017.
