After the success of "Attack on Titan" season 1, fans are already looking forward to the interesting events that could happen in season 2.

The latest rumor spreading about the anime is the release date of the upcoming season. It will reportedly be in the second half of this year. Other reports were more specific about its release date and stated that season 2 will premiere in Japan this February.

The main spoilers for season 2 are about the overthrowing of the King that is going to be led by Captain Erwin Smith. The King, who is thought to be the ruler of the whole kingdom, is actually controlled by the Reiss family. The said family have special abilities that enable them to transform themselves into Titans.

Ever since the anime series premiered, fans have been wondering who the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan really are. And according to speculations, in season 2, their identities will be revealed. The two titans are actually Bertolt Hoover and Reiner Braun, respectively, according to the original Japanese manga.

The main protagonist, Eren Jaeger, who has the coordinates, will be in danger of being eaten by Kevin Ackerman (Levi's Uncle) to retrieve the coordinates from him. This said coordinate has the ability to control the Titans and only those coming from the Reiss clan can benefit from this.

This season will also cover the revelation of the two lovers' identities: Ymir (a Titan) and Krista Lenz, who will be later known as Historia Reiss, the rightful queen.

There are speculations that season 2 could probably be the end of the anime series adaptation since the first season already covered 34 chapters and four story arcs of the printed version. Since the series is already 60 percent finished with the manga, this leaves 27 volumes left to work on.
