'Avengers: Infinity War' news, spoilers: Filming started; Vision, Scarlet Witch to grow closer

(Facebook/Avengers)"Avengers: Infinity War" will premiere in 2018, followed by "Avengers 4" in 2019.

"Avengers: Infinity War" is slated for a release in 2018 and it seems that the cast has yet to begin filming. However, a Twitter update from a known photographer has since sparked speculations that production may already be underway.

According to reports, a Twitter post from Atlanta Filming has stated that shooting has begun for the highly anticipated superhero ensemble film.

"I think I forgot to post this, but #AvengersInfinityWar started filming two weeks ago," the post read. However, the tweet has since been removed from the account.

It should be noted, though, that no confirmations have been made as to whether they have already started production for the film or not. It was previously reported that the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, have been sharing snaps of potential filming locations on their Instagram account. The Russo brothers, who helmed "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and the more recent "Captain America: Civil War," are set to direct "Avengers: Infinity War."

Plot and cast details have remained scarce about the upcoming film. It has already been confirmed that a handful of cast members are set to return. Newcomers Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Pratt are going to reprise their roles as Doctor Strange and Star-Lord/Peter Quill for the third film, respectively, making it their "Avengers" debut.

Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) were last seen breaking ties in "Captain America: Civil War," and it is unkown how they will patch things up.

But another pair, Vision (Paul Bettany) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), are expected to grow closer in the upcoming film. The Russo brothers have previously said that the two characters will be going through some personal troubles, so speculations are rife that their respective conflicts will bring them together.

"Certainly Scarlet Witch and Vision. It's a very compelling story," Joe told SlashFilm earlier this year. "One character is searching for how to identify with humanity, another who is on a journey away from her humanity towards becoming a very powerful being."

"Avengers: Infinity War" will premiere in theaters on May 4, 2018.
