'Avengers,' 'X-Men' movie crossover tipped for release around 2020

Superhero movie fans would probably agree that Marvel and Fox's likelihood of working together is low. However, many are hopeful that this has changed especially since a big rumor suggests that both studios are currently negotiating a truce and are planning to make an "Avengers" and "X-Men" movie crossover on 2020.
The rumor first broke out on Pete's Basement's Facebook page via Cosmic Book News. One of the posts on the page read, "We told you about #AgentsofShield giving us #SecretWarriors and now we have bigger news!! #Marvel and #Fox are in the process of making up!!! They are currently planning on bringing a movie to us by 2020. The movie would feature the #Avengers and #XMen Yes! Great time to be a #Geek."
Their source, Mike Sutton of Paper Cuts, claims that it "won't get public until the deal is done" and that the two companies will most likely announce the decision at next year's San Diego Comic-Con.
Fans of the "Avengers" and "X-Men" have been commenting on the post, sharing their opinions. Most of them, however, are expressing skepticism towards this rumor. Some say that a movie crossiver is a bit farfetched considering what happened to Marvel and Fox last year, the cancellation of the Fantastic Four comics, as well as the killing of Wolverine and possibly all the mutants in the Marvel Universe, as reported earlier this year by Nerd Reactor.
Despite the news sounding too good to be true, other fans are still keeping their fingers crossed and are positively hoping to see the X-Men and the Avengers team-up and take down powerful villains.
John Andrew Reyes, one of the commenters on the post wrote, "I'm on the fence about this one... But, I'll make sure to keep this in the back of my mind if I see it anywhere else."
This news, no matter how exciting, remains to be a rumor until Fox and Marvel make an official announcement.
