'Bates Motel' season 3 spoilers: does the body found in the tidal flats belong to Annika? Norman-Norma relationship gets creepier

Eerie and suspense-driven "Bates Motel" finally premiered its highly anticipated season three after a hiatus that left fans wondering about Norman. Episode one was all that fans hoped for as Annika disappeared and it seemed that Norman may have done something bad.

Devout viewers saw a highly infatuated Norman peeking in and watching Annika, clearly paying homage to Hitchcock's "Psycho". Norman then shows Annika around town but viewers see a flash of his old and familiar look when she mentions her work as a call girl. The episode suspiciously ended with Norman coming back to the hotel in Annika's car without her. Did he kill her like Blair Watson? Did Norman succumb to his dark urges?

Executive producer Kerry Ehrin told TVGuide that fans should expect the worst when it comes to "Bates Motel". He explained, "I think that you should always assume the worst because it is Bates Motel. There's no reliable narrator and the audience often has to interpret or project what they think something is. The ending was very much designed for that."

Meanwhile, the next episode will see Norma fretting over Annika's disappearance and turning her suspicions towards her son. Norman doesn't make matters better by lying about his whereabouts that evening. Perhaps the most shocking aspect of the spoiler is that a young woman's body is found floating in the tidal flats. Is the dead woman Annika? Viewers will have to wait and watch.

Avid watchers of the show should also expect more Norma-Norman subtle sexual undertones in the upcoming episode. Ehrin told TVLine that the set got their very own bathroom which will be seen in Monday's episode. Kerry said, "We're so excited to have a bathroom. We always wanted to do scenes with Norma in the bathtub and Norman walks in and they're just chatting, and we never had a bathroom so we couldn't do it."

The producer added that the new bathroom boasts a his and her sink which the duo will use giving off an eerie and highly inappropriate husband-wife vibe rather than mother-son.

"The Arcanum Club" airs on Monday, March 16 at 9 p.m. on A&E.
