A & E's psychological thriller titled "Bates Hotel" highlights the events leading to Norman Bates' (Freddie Highmore) murderous spree. It explores his teenage hood years and, in particular, emphasizes his tumultuous relationship with his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga). The thriller has received a positive reception and loyal fan following after the first two seasons aired.

The new promotional clip released by the network shows the two lead characters in a hallucinogenic-dream like setting. The two are seen getting cozy and comfortable with each other in which Norma slowly removes her jacket while the camera continues to spin. Mstars News speculates that the next season might change the underlying sexual tension between the mother-son duo. Instead of the subtle sexual tension, their chemistry will now be more in-your-face.

CaterMatt also notes that in the video Norma and Norman sit in rooms that bear a resemblance to interrogation rooms. Speculations suggest that season three will mark a complete change of Norman, form a simple trouble teen to a full-blown psychopath. The chilling grin that Freddie Highmore sports at the end of the video add to the speculations that he might completely transform into his psychotic self.

Teaser trailers released by the network reveal Norman sneakily watching Annika (Tracy Spiridakos) strip down to her underwear. This is reminiscent of the original movie "Psycho" by Hitchcock in which he frequently watches his hotel guests change.

Joshua Leonard, Kevin Rahm and Ryan Hurst will also be joining the main cast for the upcoming season. Emma's (Olivia Cooke) character is rumored to undergo a significant change, though she still works at the hotel. Her relationship with Norman is set to become closer while her time may be limited as a result of her infection. However, Emma realizes all is not what it seems with Norman.

Season three of Bates Motel will air on A & E on March 9, 2015 at 9 p.m. EST.
