'Battlefield 1' release date, news: Game gets good reviews ahead of Oct. 21 release

(Facebook/battlefield)"Battlefield 1" releases on Oct. 21 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

There's only a day left before "Battlefield 1" officially releases, but portions of the game have been available for a few days now. The game's full version was released on Oct. 18 for those who purchased the Early Enlister Edition for $80.

As of writing, the game holds an above 80 score on Metacritic. On the Xbox One, the title holds an 86 percent approval rating from critics, while on the PlayStation 4, it comes in slightly higher at 88 percent. On the PC, "Battlefield 1" has a score of 89 percent. All scores indicate generally favorable reviews.

Beta testing was done in August and a First Play Trial was released on Oct. 13. The First Play Trial consisted of single-player and multiplayer content, albeit only portions of it were available for play. Gamers who bought the Early Enlister Edition got a three-day head start on the full version of the game, being granted access to it on Oct. 18.

Due to the early release of the game to some players, reviews have already popped up and tips have already begun to trickle in. For instance, according to Gotta Be Mobile, there are some things players should keep in mind in order to level up quicker.

And while it isn't mandatory that a player level up fast, the action does come with certain advantages. Players can reach the maximum level of 100, but that could still change with additional content.

The first thing players should remember when leveling up is that experience is key. Gaining more XP will allow for a faster leveling up process. Since the game comes with a multiplayer mode, players should keep in mind that building a solid team and working with them is a big part of strategy. The game will also give players certain objectives that they must accomplish, in order to get more XP.

Additionally, players should wait out until the end of a match to gain XP. Of course, it may be hard to stay when players are losing, but it is important to remember that the XP comes at the end. There are also XP bonuses that can be found in Battlepacks, which is really helpful. Using weapons and vehicles the right away will also allow for faster leveling up.

"Battlefield 1" also has a new medal system that players should take advantage of. Each medal comes with a set of goals that players must accomplish, in order to gain XP.

"Battlefield 1" officially hits the market on Oct. 21 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
