'Beauty and the Beast' premiere date, news: New photos reveal Belle's yellow dress, life as an inventor

(Facebook/DisneyBeautyAndTheBeast)"Beauty and the Beast" opens in theatres on March 17, 2017.

Ever since it was first announced that Disney would be making a live adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson, people have wondered how beautiful the actress would look as Belle in her yellow dress. And now that it is finally here, everyone can stop imagining it because a new first look image has been released.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively revealed the first official look at Watson's Belle in their latest cover. It sees Belle dancing with the horned beast, played by none other than Dan Stevens. The beast also looks dapper in his blue coat with gold detailing, but all eyes are on Belle and her beautiful, iconic yellow gown. Other photos released also offer first looks at the mansion's grand library, Belle's father, Maurice (Kevin Kline), Gaston (Luke Evans) and LeFou (Josh Gad), as well as the mansion's other cursed residents like Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), Cogsworth (Sir Ian McKellen), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), and Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw).

Something that is particularly striking, though, is the photo of Belle and Maurice. As Disney-loving fans know, Maurice was an inventor in the original animated film from which the upcoming adaptation is based. However, this time around, Belle is the inventor.

"I was like, 'Well, there was never very much information or detail at the beginning of the story as to why Belle didn't fit in, other than she liked books. Also what is she doing with her time?' So, we created a backstory for her, which was that she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that, instead of doing laundry, she could sit and use that time to read instead. So, yeah, we made Belle an inventor," Watson said in an interview with the same publication.

As for the beast, Stevens revealed that it was especially hard to play the character because of his appearance. This meant that he had to do his parts twice in order to capture the shots perfectly for CGI rendering.

"There was the physical puppeteering and the facial stuff," Stevens told Entertainment Weekly.

"Beauty and the Beast" will premiere on March 17, 2017.
