The third season of "Better Call Saul" has been plagued with a lot of talk, especially since Bryan Cranston has expressed his interest in reprising his role as Walter White in the AMC prequel series. But it looks like the show's creators have something else in mind for Cranston as the actor revealed that he was offered a job to direct an episode of season 3.

Cranston revealed the news while guesting on "The Rich Eisen Show." However, he admitted that he was uncertain what to make of the offer and that he is still considering the gig. Directing an episode on the show would undoubtedly be an honor for him to do, but he also pointed out that he may not want to see how the sausage is made since he is a fan of the series himself. 

It was previously reported that Cranston wanted to bring Walter White back to life in the prequel series if he is given the chance. The actor repeated the same sentiments during the interview and stated that he would jump at the offer with no hesitation.

As for what season 3 will bring to the table, there are those who are expecting a change in the show's lead character. Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) is trodding on a slow path toward becoming Saul Goodman. Funnily enough, unlike his name suggests, Saul wasn't a very good person when viewers met him on "Breaking Bad." And it looks like season 3 of "Better Call Saul" will see Jimmy's dark transformation.

It has been reported that Jimmy will be on his way to becoming Saul Goodman in the upcoming third season and that his brother Chuck's (Michael McKean) traitorous move may just be the thing that pushes him over the edge. 

Co-creator Peter Gould teased the outcome of Chuck turning on his brother in an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this year, saying:

"Without a doubt, it feels like Chuck is about to make some really big move against Jimmy. And I think one of the questions is: Jimmy is the guy who will run to his brother's aid when he needs to. Is that still going to be true after he finds out that he's been played, and he's been had?"

Fans will have to wait and see if this is really the end of Jimmy McGill and the birth of Saul Goodman. "Better Call Saul" will premiere in 2017 on AMC.
