'Better Call Saul' season 3 updates: Bryan Cranston is all for appearing on the show as Walter White

(Facebook/BetterCallSaulAMC)The events on "Better Call Saul" are getting closer to the "Breaking Bad" timeline and actor Bryan Cranston, who starred in the mother series, is open for a cameo appearance.

The third season of "Better Call Saul" is currently in the works and as early as now, Bryan Cranston is letting everyone know that he is more than willing to join the cast even for a cameo appearance.

Fans around the world very well know Cranston for his world-renowned portrayal of Walter White in "Breaking Bad." Cranston received three Emmys for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award and even though the show closed the book a couple of years ago, fans are still demanding to see him make an appearance on "Better Call Saul."

It seems Cranston's potential cameo on the show is getting closer than ever. Speaking at the Rich Eisen Show, Cranston said of the potential for Walt to appear on the hit show: "Yes, you don't have to finish the pitch. I'm there, what do you want me to do?"

Cranston went on to rave about series creator Vince Gilligan, saying he owed a lot to Gilligan. "He was my champion to get this role," he recalled. Cranston was initially rejected for the role due to his history of comedic roles but Gilligan convinced the showrunners that he would be able to successfully pull off a man as iconic as Walter White. As expected, Cranston did not fail them.

However, it has yet to be confirmed if Walt will ever have a storyline that would connect with Bob Odenkirk's Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill. At this point in the story, Jimmy is starting to break bad and turn into a sleazy lawyer who may display similar characteristics as that of Cranston's "Heisenberg." This could be the perfect time to insert Walt into Jimmy's life.

Meanwhile, Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) is rumored to make a comeback in "Better Call Saul" season three. According to The Christian Times, he won't appear in the early episodes. Instead, he may come out somewhere in the middle of Jimmy's transformation to Saul. If this happens, fans should expect a lot of thrill as he once again gets in the face of Jimmy.

"Better Call Saul" season three is set for release sometime in 2017.
