'Better Call Saul' season 3 air date, spoilers: Jimmy and Chuck's rift intensifies

(Better Call Saul / Facebook)"Better Call Saul" season 3 premieres early next year.

When "Better Call Saul" returns for season 3 next year, fans can expect an even more intense tension between Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) and Chuck (Michael McKean).

It's not surprising that Chuck has no intention of being a better sibling to Jimmy, but it is even more unsurprising that the rift between the two brothers is destined to only get worse.

Chuck successfully made Jimmy admit of manipulating the Mesa Verde files. The evidence of the younger McGill's admission is in the hands of the older McGill, which he could use for blackmailing. Chuck also seems to be the person who would not bat an eye to see his younger brother's life turn upside down.

Actor McKean revealed to Los Angeles Times that the reason behind Chuck sabotaging his own brother's life is because of how Jimmy made their mother laugh, while he just made her proud. Chuck masks his true intentions to Jimmy by acting like he is concerned about him.

Meanwhile, series' writer Gennifer Hutchison revealed how the writers team up in the show's writer's room. She told Yahoo!, "[Collboration] that's one of the things that's nice about how 'Breaking Bad' was and how 'Better Call Saul' continues to be. Vince, and then Vince and Peter [Gould], really create this collaborative environment in the writers' room where everyone is encouraged to participate. There are some shows where it's very by level [with who] participates."

In season 3, fans can also expect more of Kim's (Rhea Seehorn) other side and her background, before meeting Jimmy. Viewers will realize that Kim is not someone people have expected and that her character is actually very complex. Her attraction to Jimmy will also be explored. It will also show their differences, despite her strong feelings for Jimmy.

"Better Call Saul" season 3 is set to air early 2017.
