'Better Call Saul's' Bob Odenkirk shares how grateful he is for role in the series

It was recently confirmed that "Better Call Saul" would be filming its second season after the fourth of July celebration. While it was really no surprise that the show has been green-lighted for another season due to its success, fans were nonetheless happy to know that the cameras are rolling and that there would be another 13 episodes.
"Better Call Saul," whose first season premiered earlier this year on AMC, is an American TV drama spin-off of the widely successful show, "Breaking Bad." It follows the story of Jimmy McGill six years before the events of its source series, as it explores the transformation of McGill to the Saul Goodman fans know from "Breaking Bad."
The series has been met with phenomenal success and has been praised by both critics and viewers even raking in the highest viewership in basic cable history. In fact, the popularity of the show has led the broadcast company, AMC, to renew "Better Call Saul" even before the release of the first season.
Much of McGill's backstory was revealed in season one. And while fans would agree that Saul was as sleazy as they come, the fact that he was an earnest lawyer trying to get clients has given the character a bit more depth.
In an interview with Bob Odenkirk, the actor who plays Saul/McGill, he revealed that the decision to show the story behind the character was exciting for him to play.
"..In 'Breaking Bad,' I played Saul Goodman, and he was like a persona that this person was putting forth and showing the world. He was intentionally one dimensional — he was a phony, a façade. So the opportunity to play a character at multiple levels, to have the richness of his history, to have a multi-faceted inner life, and one so well drawn and so detailed as this, is crazy opportunity. It's more than I could ever have dreamed somebody would give me a chance to do. Real actors, people who train for their lifetimes, hope for a role like this, so for me to get it is a crazy bit of lottery winning." gushed Odenkirk to The Wrap.
There is no set date yet for "Better Call Saul's" season two premiere but reports speculate that the show would return early 2016.
