'Bones' season 12 spoilers: Booth to reunite with an old friend

(Facebook/Bones)Gordon Wyatt will be back in the final season of "Bones."

Retired forensic psychiatrist Gordon Wyatt (Stephen Fry) will be heading back to the Jeffersonian in the upcoming final season of "Bones."

As per TVLine, Booth's (David Boreanaz) old friend and now enthusiastic chef will appear in an episode in the final installment. FOX has recently announced that Fry, who guest starred in several episodes in the past seasons, will once again play the role of Wyatt. The character will be seen in episode 9.

The last time viewers saw Wyatt, he was helping Booth realize what he really felt for Brennan. Because of his tumor, Booth could not identify if his feelings for her were real or not but Wyatt steered him into the right direction.

The two men first met when Wyatt was called in to check on the FBI agent. Booth, at the time, was working on a case involving the serial killer Howard Epps (Heath Freeman). Booth soon found a friend in the doctor, whom he affectionately calls "Gordon Gordon."

Brennan is also a good friend of the doctor's. She previously had issues about his field since she has an aversion to psychology. Wyatt, however, proved that he was a master specialist. Brennan even brought Angela (Michaela Conlin) to him for counseling when the latter was still deciding whether to move in with Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) or not.

Meanwhile, another star set to reappear in season 12 is Betty White. As per spoilers, she will reprise her role as Dr. Beth Mayer, the world-renowned forensic anthropologist. White appeared in the last installment's "The Carpals in the Coy-Wolves" episode, where she helped Brennan solve the case about the murder of a real estate agent. Sharp and incredibly talented, Mayer caused Brennan to feel a little jealous, but the latter also admitted that it was an honor working alongside the living legend.

Aside from Fry and White, Eddie McClintock is also set to return as Brennan's ex-boyfriend, Sully.

"Bones: The Final Chapter" will air on Jan. 3 on Fox.
