For a while, many "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" fans were worried that they would never get to see the resolution to the massive season two finale cliffhanger. A lot of questions were left for the next season to answer during the last episode of the second season and audiences deemed that it would be a shame for the Andy Samberg show to not get the proper ending.

Fortunately for them, earlier this year, Fox Network announced that a "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season three has been ordered and would soon be in production.

Now the question in everyone's minds is, would Captain Holt and Gina be absent from season three?

According to a report by the International Business Times, fans need not worry, as despite Captain Holt's reassignment to work the public relations department of the NYPD, he and his assistant Gina, who followed him to his new department, will still take part and be seen in the new season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

As for Captain Holt's new replacement at the Nine-Nine precint, Bill Hader—a "Saturday Night Live" alumni, has signed on to play the new captain. His position however is shortlived, as according to IMDB, Hader would only appear in the debut episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season three. Bustle.com further confirmed that the actor will no longer make another appearance throughout the remaining episodes of the third season.

On the other hand, even though Jake Peralta (Samberg) and Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) kissed in the last episode, fans won't get to see a smooth-sailing relationship between the former partners in this impending season. The two kissed during a traumatic time, which caused repercussions and problems that will need to be addressed and with their respective personalities, it will be very difficult for the both of them.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is set to be released on Sept. 27.
