Earlier this month, circulating rumors pointed out the possible sides the heroes will take in the upcoming Marvel movie, "Captain America: Civil War." As mentioned in the report by Comicbook Resources, Team Iron Man is going to be made up of Vision, Black Widow and War Machine, while Captain America's team will be composed of Ant-Man, Falcon, Scarlet Witch and The Winter Soldier. However, Jeremy Renner recently had a slip of the tongue and accidentally revealed Hawkeye's side in the upcoming war of heroes.

According to IGN, during the Wizard World Comic Con Chicago, Renner was asked by a fan "Why Captain America over Iron Man?" to which the actor answered, "I don't know; they wrote me in that side. It made sense to me," he told the fan.

After the initial answer, Renner may have realized that he just spilled the beans on which side Hawkeye is on in Civil War. The actor then tried to do some damage control and followed up his answer with, "maybe I switched sides, I don't know. Maybe I don't."

To some fans, Hawkeye siding with Captain America was a bit of a shock because, logically, Natasha Romanov is more suitable to be on Steve Rogers' side instead of Clint Barton. To put it into perspective, in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," Captain and Black Widow proved that they both have chemistry and that they both work well together. Then, in the end scene of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Black Widow was seen right beside Captain America, assumingly, taking the position of second in command.

However, since there is no official word yet coming from Marvel or the production, it's best to take the news with a tiny speck of salt for now and wait for the announcement.

"Captain America: Civil War" is set to be released next year, May 6, 2016.
