When Harry Potter actress Emma Watson delivered an astounding speech about gender equality on Sept. 20 at the New York City UN headquarters. Many were floored at how the actress presented points that gender equality is a man's issue as well, as she took the opportunity to launch the #HeForShe campaign.

"If you believe in equality, you might be one of those inadvertent feminists I spoke of earlier. And for this I applaud you. We are struggling for a uniting word but the good news is we have a uniting movement. It is called HeForShe. I am inviting you to step forward, to be seen to speak up; to be the 'he for she' - and to ask yourself if not me, who, if not, now when," Watson said as the closing paragraph of her speech.

The video of Watson's speech quickly went viral, with positive feedback from countless media outlets. As expected, her fellow celebrities expressed their support in this campaign, and applauded the Harry Potter actress for her eloquence on the issue.

Female stars Rashida Jones, Chloe Grace Moretz, Ellie Goulding, and even writer Neil Gaiman all virtually applauded Watson by posting on their Twitter accounts, with some even calling the actress an "inspiration."

"@EmWatson you are impeccable & extraordinary. I stand with you. I believe in gender equality. #heforshe," wrote actor Tom Hiddleston.

"Husband to a wife, father to a daughter, son to a mother. You bet I'm on board, @EmWatson! #heforshe," wrote Star Wars Episode VII cast member Simon Pegg.

"The need for gender equality & the REAL meaning of feminism, beautifully articulated by @EmWatson : #HeForShe," wrote an ecstatic Rashida Jones.
