The upcoming episode of "Chicago Fire" will see the dramatic conclusion to season 4. It will mark the series' fourth season finale, titled "Superhero."

The firehouse will have to face a big hurdle when a risky structure fire threatens the life of one of their members. The episode will also see Dawson (Monica Raymund) still in the process of adopting Louie, the child she rescued. With difficulties arising from the situation, Firehouse 51 will be there to support her.

Meanwhile, Lt. Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Jimmy (Steven R. McQueen) have to take care of the outcome of recent events, but they end up in conflict with each other. Kidd (guest star Miranda Rae Mayo), on the other hand, is compelled to confront her ex, Grant (guest star Guy Burnet), who is as unhinged as he is unpredictable.

Casey (Jesse Spencer) then has to go out of town for a summit that lasts three days. He will be accompanied by Susan Weller (guest star Lauren Stamile), who is his new political advisor. Susan is also the one who pushes Casey to take care of his Alderman duties. Casey unexpectedly takes up the task enthusiastically, while Susan encourages him to pursue bigger goals.

A trailer has also been released for the season 4 finale episode and it teases a death in the "Chicago Fire" team. Dawson is seen seemingly sacrificing herself as an explosion hits the building. The clip certainly made it seem like she wouldn't make it out of the calamity alive, but fans are quite confident that the show wouldn't kill a favorite.

There is also the possibility that the show will end on a cliffhanger and resolve the issue once season 5 rolls around. "Chicago Fire" has already been renewed for a fifth season, giving writers a chance to explore more of the characters' story arcs.

"Chicago Fire's" season 4 finale will air on Tuesday, May 17 on NBC.
