Gabriela Dawson's (Monica Raymund) life has turned 180 degrees when Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) ultimately decided to return to her. Is she ready for a life together with him and baby Louie in the upcoming season of "Chicago Fire"?

For fans of the NBC series, Dawson's storyline is one of the saddest of the bunch. She and Casey loved each other, but they broke up because of a traumatic event that took place in their lives. Dawson had a miscarriage, and from then on, their relationship went sour. While Casey moved on to become alderman and the hero of the city, Dawson was forced to deal with the pain by herself. Eventually, she decided to take a big step and adopt a kid. It was hard going for her, as she is a single woman wanting to become a mother to a little child.

When everyone thought it was over for them since Casey appeared to have moved on through his attractive assistant, he surprised everyone by going to see Dawson. He was finally ready to win her back and "Dawsey" fans were ecstatic.

Executive producer Matt Olmstead told TV Line that they were open to a wedding between the two. He made it clear though that it would not be to speed up the adoption process for the boy.

"We're not averse to that. [However], it's not something that they would do 'shotgun-style' just to facilitate an adoption. They wouldn't do it just for appearances sake. If and when they do it, they'll do it because it's time. We want a big episode, for sure. There may be something big with Casey and Dawson. We're not going to treat it like just any episode," he said.

Although Casey is sure of what he wants, it is difficult to say what is going through Dawson's mind. He previously told her he was ready to give up his work as alderman to be with her. If Dawson agrees to take their relationship to another level, a lot will change in her life. She will be a wife and a mother and there will be no compromise.

From Olmstead's hint, it appears that a big event will take place in the 100^th episode of the series. CarterMatt posits it will be the much-awaited wedding of the "Dawsey" couple.

"Chicago Fire" season 5 will premiere on Tuesday, October 11 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
