'Chicago Med' season 2 episode 17 spoilers: Someone will commit suicide

(NBC)Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) is trying his best to treat the patient in episode 17 of "Chicago Med" season 2.

"Chicago Med" season 2 hints of a demise of someone from the cast when it returns with a new episode this week.

Called "Monday Mourning," both the promotional preview and the title of the upcoming episode point to a death through suicide. The promotional clip shows a man walking at the topmost floor of the building and preparing to jump off, while the teaser narrates that "nothing will shock you but the first two minutes."

This incident will rattle the rest of the team, but despite that, each one of them will still have to focus on their patients.

The official synopsis of episode 17 does not name the person but gives a summary of what cases and concerns that the doctors at the emergency department of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center will work on. The summary reveals that Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) will have some tension over differences in perspective on treating a patient with stroke symptoms.

In the promotional preview, Dr. Choi rushes to Dr. Halstead and accuses him of being unwilling to do what the patient needs. The background describes their clash as a "controversial life-saving choice." Will Dr. Halstead be doing something unconventional for their patient?

Episode 17 will also see Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) do her best to treat a young boy who fell in the river but this causes some trouble in the family. Although it is still uncertain how the treatment will turn out, the preview shows Dr. Manning "breaking under pressure" and crying.

Aside from these, the upcoming episode will also see Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) examine the man who saved the patient of Dr. Manning. From there, he will reiterate to Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) the importance of learning from one's mistake.

"Chicago Med" season 2 airs episode 17 on Thursday, March 16, at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
