'Chicago Med' season 2 episode 2 spoilers: Two medical cases may be connected

(Chicago Med / Facebook)“Chicago Med” season 2 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.

Two medical cases may be connected in the upcoming episode 2, titled "Win Loss," of the second season of the American medical drama "Chicago Med."

Drs. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Rhodes (Colin Donnell) have a suspicion that the two cases of sick babies, which are supposed to be separate, may have a connection after all. Drs. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Charles (Oliver Platt), on the other hand, will be enlightened after meeting a homeless patient who surprisingly has a positive outlook in life. A deal will be made between Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) and a Navy corpsman regarding the toll of gang violence.

The promo trailer for "Win Loss" shows Manning and Rhodes taking care of two patients hanging by a thread. Rhodes mentions that if his patient does not get the transplant that he needs, death can be the result. Manning also tells Rhodes that if she gets to save her patient, it would mean that Rhodes may not make it out alive. It seems like the transplant has something to do with both babies. Before the clip ends, Manning lashes out after Rhodes suggests a solution that could be unethical.

Meanwhile, executive producers Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider teased a few spoilers for this season in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. They revealed that relationships will have strains that could reveal about the characters' past.

As for Manning, who is already having a hard start this season, the EPs reveal that she will deal with the feeling of betrayal of her late husband because of her complicated relationship with his best friend. Schneider added, "But on the other hand, she's come to a place in her life where she wants to put the mourning beside her to restart her life, and to become more socially active and reenter life. It's been a year since her husband died."

'Chicago Med' season 2 episode 2 airs Sept. 29, Thursday, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
