'Clash of Clans' September update arrives on third week; Supercell cancels ClashCon 2016

(Facebook/ClashofClans)"Clash of Clans" is rumored to release its September update on the third week of the month.

"Clash of Clans" has been surrounded by rumors lately. Apart from the anticipated September update coming soon, the Internet is now convinced that Supercell has decided to do away with the game altogether.

Rumors of Supercell cancelling "Clash of Clans" have started to spread due to the developer deciding to skip ClashCon this year. But that doesn't seem like the case as the company took to its website to release a statement regarding the cancellation of the event.

"Part of working in small teams means sometimes saying no to things we badly want to do. Unfortunately, this year, we have to say no to ClashCon," opened the announcement.

"While big events like ClashCon are a great way to give back to players, they are largely limited to the Clashers able to attend in person. We decided that this year the best way to thank our players is to stay focused on the things that benefit the entire Clash Community: improvements and additions to the games, and experiences that players everywhere can enjoy," the post continued.

While it is sad to think that ClashCon won't be happening this year, it would seem like Supercell has made it clear that there will be more things to come for the game, which is something to be happy about.

It was previously reported that the September update is expected to include exciting features. One of these features is being able to utilize Town Halls despite not meeting the level requirement. In the past, players were only allowed to use the capabilities that came with Town Halls if they already reached level 11 or above. But opening up Town Halls for everyone may lead to an increased number of daily active users. Other features are believed to be free mining gems, a penalty element, and better spells.

Some believe that Supercell is trying to up its game because of the sudden boom of Niantic's "Pokémon  GO." However, the company has yet to comment on this.

The September update is expected to drop on the third week of the month.
