The upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds" promises more thrilling scenes as Derek will pursue the people behind his abduction and torture.

In the previous episode titled "Derek," fans were allowed to look into the past of Derek (Shemar Moore), who turns out to have been abused. His hallucinations seem to be the reason that kept him alive as he was put through a lot of pain. When he was seized, it appears as if he didn't know who abducted him, and in the upcoming episode, it seems his search for his abductors will press on.

It is unclear if he will find the answers to his numerous questions, but rumor has it that he may have to face the darkness of his past as he tracks down the people who put his life at stake. Although he was luckily saved by his teammates, his memories of the pain and torture linger so fans can also expect some drama in season 17.

A synopsis from TV.com also reveals that the team will be faced with an UnSub that they will start calling the "Sandman." Children are being abducted around town while their parents are asleep and it seems the Sandman is behind it. The BAU team will then search for the perpetrator in order to stop further child abductions.

The Sandman is a mythological creature famous in central and northern Europe for sprinkling magical dust on the eyes of children to keep them heavily asleep. In episode 17 of "Criminal Minds," it appears the Sandman is a villain who snatches children while their parents are asleep. Fans will have to wait if the perpetrator is also responsible for keeping the children's parents asleep while he takes the kids away.

Meanwhile, it is expected that the team will have a hard time figuring out how they can catch the suspect. With Derek busily thinking and planning for his execution of vengeance, there may be other issues that his unstable mind will bring to the team.

Episode 17 of "Criminal Minds" season 11 will air on Wednesday, March 16, on CBS.
