This year saw the rise of new TV series that made their mark, and ABC's show 'Cristela' is one of them. Just one month after its premiere, Cristela was confirmed for a season 2 renewal, which means more laughs will be provided by the first Latina to have her primetime sitcom.

This proves to be a breather for the cast and production crew of the show, as their fate was uncertain until the announcement was made on Nov. 24. Two of ABC's four new primetime shows, 'Manhattan Love Story' and 'Selfie,' were axed after only one season,

Debuting in October, 2014, Cristela is about a Mexican-American lady named Cristela who just graduated from law school and has dreams of making it big in America. Cristela must be able to gain support from her family, however, since she is working as an unpaid intern at a law firm.

The aspiring attorney is pressured by her sister, who works as a call center manager for a cable company, and her brother-in-law, who thinks that she should get her own place and feels that she is being a freeloader.

As if that wasn't enough, Cristela also suffers her mother's constant bickering as she is urged to settle down.

Carlos Ponce, Terri Hoyos, Maria Canals-Barrera, Sam McMurray, Gabriel Iglesias, Andrew Leeds, and Justine Lupe make up the cast of the Friday night sitcom.
