Cristiano Ronaldo's struggle on the field is evident after Portugal lost to Germany at 4-0 on Monday. With the injury on his left knee, will he be able to play for his country against USA?

The 29-year-old football superstar is limping and on the verge of a permanent injury if he doesn't take care of his knee. At least that's what his doctor allegedly said. According to a report by El Confidential, an online publication in Spain, Dr. Carlos Noronha, allegedly advised Ronaldo that he might face serious and permanent knee injury if he doesn't sit out of the USA game.

"Let your knee rest, or your future is in danger," Noronha allegedly said, as reported by El Confidential via NBC Sports.

Luckily for Portugese football fans, this medical advice is a hoax. Talking to The Record, Dr. Noronha denied the statement and said that he did not give such warnings to Ronaldo. Still, the fans aren't in such good hopes as Ronaldo was seen putting an ice pack towards the end of his pre-World Cup practice with his teammates.

Though he did not score any goals or attempts, Ronaldo seemed lively and aggressive during his Monday match against Germany. His knee seemed to look alright as he sprinted his way on both sides of the field. Fans of the Portugese national team can only expect a better performance from the famous athlete when his team plays against USA on Sunday, who recently won a match against Ghana.
