'Dance Moms' season 7 news: Chloe Lukasiak, new dancers to be joining series amid cancellation rumors

(Facebook/DanceMomsonLIFETIME)"Dance Moms" season 7 is rumored to have been canceled.

"Dance Moms" has been the subject of rumors and controversy recently. And with star dancer Maddie Ziegler's departure from the show, coupled with trainer Abby Lee Miller's fraud charges, there is widespread talk that season 7 might get canceled.

Although they are just rumors, many believe that "Dance Moms" will stop at season 6, mostly due to the show losing its star. Ziegler has been with the show for a long time. From the very start, it was clear that she is a talented dancer, which is why famous singer/songwriter Sia took notice of her. Ziegler has since starred in several of Sia's music videos, including the acclaimed "Chandelier." Apart from that, the dancer also managed to snag a role in a Colin Trevorrow film and landed a stint as a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation," all at just 13 years old.

With Ziegler's rapidly rising star power and growing career, her decision to leave Lifetime's "Dance Moms" came as no surprise. And with Miller's fraud case, some believe that a cancellation is impending. However, reports also claim that Miller is looking to convince Chloe Lukasiak to return to the reality series. Lukasiak, also a talented dancer, left the show in season 4. Could this be a Hail Mary to save season 7?

It has also been said that Lifetime is searching for new cast members to join "Dance Moms" for its seventh season. It is unknown whether this speculation is true or not, but adding new dancers to the show certainly seems like a good idea at this point, especially since another dancer — Nia Sioux — is also rumored to be exiting the series.

"Dance Moms" season 7 will reportedly consist of 13 episodes, which is significantly fewer than its prior seasons. Lifetime has not yet confirmed a seventh season, much less a release date for the reality series.
