'Daredevil' season 3 release date news, updates: show may not return until 2018

(Facebook/Marvel's Daredevil)"Daredevil" season three may not arrive until 2018

Following the announcement that fans will once again see Matt Murdock in a collaboration series instead of his solo "Daredevil" stint, rumors are now pointing to a potential 2018 release for "Daredevil" season three.

New reports suggest that there are enough hero shows for Netflix to air from this year all throughout 2017, giving the third season of "Daredevil" no room to get into the action in the next one-and-a-half years.

"Luke Cage" is arriving this year, while "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders" will be hitting small screens next year. Charlie Cox's Daredevil will be joining the other superheroes in "The Defenders." In the meantime, it is also expected that the second installment for "Jessica Jones" will arrive in 2018.

Netflix usually airs two hero shows every year and it is speculated that "Jessica Jones" season two and "Daredevil" season three will have the same launch year.

While there is no exact premiere announced for "Daredevil," fans should already rejoice since Netflix has made it clear that the third installment will happen no matter what. Cox himself seems to be okay with the idea of pushing his standalone series back to give way for other heroes in the Marvel extended universe to come to play.

In particular, Cox is very excited to see how things will work for him and the other heroes he will be joining in "The Defenders." While not too many people who are focused on Murdock's journey are very happy with the delay of the show's return, a Marvel TV executive had something reasonable to say.

According to IGN, "Jessica Jones" creator Melissa Rosenberg said: "There has to be people who are open to and enjoy collaboration. And not only with each other as partners in this, but with all the showrunners involved. I know I - know all of us - felt really included in the process."

That being said, it's fair to say that Cox is really happy about the joint work, and so are the people from his team, and every other team from each of the solo shows. Fans should start being okay with this new setup too so there will be less frustrations from failed expectations.
