'Dark Souls III' DLC release date, news: FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki teases new location, plot

"Dark Souls III" made waves when it was first released earlier this year. Now, heads are turning toward the upcoming DLCs that will come for the game. And while not a lot of details have been revealed about the content, fans can look forward to a lot of new things.
In an email interview with Kotaku, FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki teased that there will be two DLCs coming for the "Dark Souls" title.
"We're actually still working on the first one. Content-wise, it builds off of the previous titles and will be featuring a new area, enemies, gear, and story. The game story revolves around a new location which I believe will offer a different feel from 'Dark Souls 3,'" Miyazaki revealed.
But even though the latest title has just been released, there are already people talking about the possibility of a "Dark Souls IV." Indeed, "Dark Souls" is a franchise that has amassed a loyal fan following throughout its popular run. So there is naturally some speculation that "Dark Souls" could still see a fourth installment.
However, while speaking with GameSpot, Miyazaki, who also co-directed "Dark Souls III," revealed that there is no immediate plan to make another sequel. He does go on to say, though, that he may change his mind in the future and "go back to the series and make one more game before I retire."
As for another popular rumor concerning "Demon's Souls," the game that arguably started it all, Miyazaki clarified that the rights to that game is with Sony, so he cannot definitively promise a remake or re-mastering of the game.
And even though "Dark Souls III" could potentially mark the end — or as Miyazaki puts it, the "turning point" — of the franchise, FromSoftware will still continue to give it their all when it comes to producing future games.
As for the DLC's release date, an official one has not yet been announced. However, it is known that it will come out sometime this fall.
