'Destiny' news: Patch hotfix resolves problem of unlimited Rockets and Super ability

(Destiny Game official website)"Destiny" has finally fixed two potential game-breaking bugs through its latest patch hotfix.

Bungie has finally resolved the game-breaking bugs through its latest patch hotfix, which, according to its official website, "will restore order to the game."

The patch update is labeled version 2.2.3.0 and its purpose is to fix two potential game-breaking issues that some players have been exploiting on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The first is the issue where players coild get additional Heavy Ammunition, which is considered to be a rare commodity as mentioned by Community manager David Dague. The bug is said to have resulted in the Trial of Osiris event to be put on hold.

"Heavy Ammunition is a rare commodity in the Crucible, and with good reason! There are few defences against a well-aimed rocket that lands squarely at your feet...When we learned that some Guardians had discovered a way to earn unlimited rockets, we knew it was time for a bug hunt. Rather than punish players for playing the game in a way we didn't predict, we've been waging an investigation into our code."

With the Heavy Ammunition issue resolved, these are what players can expect:

Available from Lord Saladin:

  • Rank 3: Gauntlets, PlayStation Gauntlets
  • Rank 4: Chest Pieces, Sidearms
  • Rank 5: Fusion Rifles

Another good news is — at least for gamers who are guilty of exploiting the bug —  no sanction is reported to be given. The glitch apparently was due to error codes.

The second issue that the update will reportedly fix is the unlimited Super Abilities that players can easily access, providing imbalance in the game when it comes to PvP matches.

With the two issues out of the way, it has been reported that the Trials of Osiris event, along with the Iron Banner, is now underway and players can partake in the said event until the server resets at the end of May.

More "Destiny" news update and future patch notes coming soon.
